Cat Urine Removers
"Cat urine removers come in two varieties. The first uses oxygenation and is best for fresh stains. The other type uses enzymes to clean and remove any bacteria that may form and cause odor."
Products for cleaning cat urine come in two varieties. Differences and what you should use each kind for are listed in the table below. Clean the area thoroughly since cat's have an excellent sense of smell. If the odor isn't removed, your cat might believe that they can urinate in the same area again.
The key is to clean the stain or odor quickly after the accident to prevent the urine from penetrating too deeply into the floor, carpet, furniture or fabrics. If products contain peroxide and you are using it on carpet it may discolor. Test each product first.
In the case of carpet if the urine penetrated the carpet padding you may need to cut out that area of padding and replace it.
