Cat With Lesion on Face

Reader Question: Cat Skin Lesions on Head

My cat is a 4 year old Siamese cat..a week ago he developed a cough and started sneezing. I also noticed a trauma on his head.

At first I thought that he scratched it and hurt himself, but 2 days ago it became slightly raised from the skin and slightly blue in color. I am afraid that it is a tumor.

I am a physician and I do not like the way this lesion is growing larger. I hope you can help me.

The chances of a 4 year old cat having a cancerous tumor are small. I think it is more likely that your cat is suffering from an abscess or other condition commonly associated with a rapidly growing mass in or under the skin.

Whatever the cause of your cat’s illness, he needs to be seen by a veterinarian who can diagnose its cause and plan appropriate treatment.
