Growth on cat nose is spreading into nostrils
Cat Nose Growth
We have a healthy 8 yr old female cat of mixed breed. She is primarily an outdoor cat. We live on land with wooded acreage and she is always on the prowl for small creatures.
Last week we noticed a black raised growth on her nose that has been spreading. The growth appears to be spreading into her nostrils now. She does not seem to be bothered by this infection/growth.
As you can see by the picture this is black raised or bumpy also scaly and some appearance of blood on the nose.
We don't know what this could be or if it could be contagious to our 2 dogs.

Vet Suggestion Growth on Cat NoseHi Les and Linda,
I’m afraid it is not possible for me to tell you what the lesion on your cat’s nose is based on solely on photographs and a description.
Because it appears to be spreading, I think it would be best if you got her in to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. Some feline skin diseases can spread to dogs and even to people.
Although I think that this is unlikely in your case, it would be best to err on the side of safety.
Also, whatever is going on with your cat’s skin will be easier (and cheaper) to treat the faster it is diagnosed. Possibilities include a wound, infection (bacterial or fungal), parasites, immune disease, cancer, and more.
Your veterinarian may be able to narrow down the list based simply on a physical exam, but some tests (e.g., skin cytology) may also be necessary to reach a final diagnosis.
Good luck,
